Project overview
Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) is the urban local body responsible for the administration and development of Ujjain City in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India.
This project was implemented for the All India Institute of Local Self-Government (AIILSG) in collaboration with the Ujjain Municipal Corporation to develop a GIS-based property survey and tax monitoring system. The objective was to create a digital database of properties and support the municipality in identifying taxable properties, verifying property records, and improving property tax collection. The collected information was integrated into a centralized GIS platform, where municipal officials could visualize properties on digital maps, verify records, and identify properties with pending or unpaid taxes.A web-based dashboard enabled officials to monitor survey progress, analyze tax coverage, generate reports, and support informed decision-making.
Scope of work
Indev Consultancy’s scope of work covers the provision of GIS-based mapping, urban spatial data management, hardware and software support, field inspection, technical reporting, and long-term ICT maintenance to support municipal planning and urban development activities.
- Preparation and submission of GIS based maps layers of municipal area and planning/censure urban agglomeration area.
- Supply, installation, configuration, and commissioning of required hardware and software.
- Conducting field-level surveys and inspections in selected pilot wards. Collection and verification of spatial, infrastructure, demographic, and other relevant field information.
- Preparation and submission of interim progress reports covering project activities, achievements, fieldwork, GIS development, and implementation status.
- Providing technical handholding to project personnel for GIS tools, systems, datasets, and related applications.
- Providing continuous technical support and maintenance for a period of 24 months, troubleshooting hardware, software, GIS, database, and application-related issues.
